Scented soy candles are made from soy wax, which is a hydrogenated soybean oil. Soy wax came about through research trying to find a more cost-effective wax than traditional beeswax that is commonly used for candle making. Michael Richards was the researcher and discovered, shortly after the creation of soy wax, that both candle makers and candle makers wanted this candle wax to be more natural.
These types of candles are produced when you mix different fragrances with soy wax. These candles can be found online from various websites, in some supermarkets, and in specialty stores that sell candles. More and more people are discovering the benefits and joy of creating their own soy candles. If you are making your own paraffin or beeswax candles; You will be amazed at the difference and the ease of making soy candles. You may want to try them out; maybe you will discover that you like them.

There is a logical reason for how long a candle will last; the wax melts at a lower temperature. That gives the candle a better aroma, which means that the aroma reaches the air much faster. Now, since it burns at a lower temperature, the wax will last longer, which means the candle doesn't burn as fast. Another benefit of this candle is that there is no close to the black soot that is so common with a paraffin based candle. That's actually one of my favorite characteristics of scented soy candles; no more black soot or at least greatly minimized.
Although I prefer soy candle, I will admit that beeswax is also a better candle than paraffin candle. The problem with beeswax, like paraffin candles, will cost you more in the long run. Remember I said earlier that soy candles will last longer and burn colder than beeswax or paraffin candles. The choice is still yours and there are actually times when I will use a paraffin candle over a soy candle.
A soy candle is softer than a paraffin candle, so stand alone pillar candles are not very good, I will go for a paraffin candle in these situations. However, you can add a hardener to the soy wax to make it straighter. Again, that is a choice you will have to make on your own. I just want to make sure you understand some of the differences between candle types.
Now soy candles because they are all natural, are the preferred candles of people who are more concerned about the environment. Paraffin-based Duftkerzen are created from a by-product of the oil industry and will produce some CO2 when burned; soy candles won't.
Another interesting thing about soy candles, actually all candles, is that you can easily mix the wax with aromatherapy essential oils which, according to some people, can improve your health and, in some cases, your beauty. I don't know if that's the case or not, I just like the smell of different oils. One of the most common oils to add to scented soy candles is lavender. Some people say that the scent of lavender is responsible for helping you relax. In fact, I think so. On the other hand, I might want to relax and convince myself that the lavender scent is helping me.
The last thing I want to say about a scented soy candle is that if you hit one, and you will, the wax is easy to clean. Just grab some warm water, dish soap, and a rag to clean up the mess. Try that when you spill a beeswax or paraffin candle. With those spills, you usually grab a kitchen knife or razor blade.
